The Tau Omega Charitable Trust Fund, Incorporated decided to implement the Making It Through program as a result of a few of its scholarship recipients experiences that impacted their ability to complete their college education. The Making it Through program’s current focus is to create content related to mental health issues specifically geared towards college students. The program’s overall goal is to destigmatize seeking help for mental health issues by providing tools to recognize whether a student may be experiencing any mental health challenges. The program will disseminate the information and tools through social media posts, videos and workshops.

A grant from the West Harlem Development Corporation enabled The Tau Omega Charitable Trust Fund, Incorporated to create the content to be disseminated mainly to students with a connection to West Harlem either as a result of attending a college in the area or because their permanent residence is in West Harlem but they are attending a school elsewhere. However, access to the materials is not limited to this demographic.

We invite college students seeking information, or others willing to spread the word about the program to follow us on FacebookInstagramTikTok, Twitter, and Youtube.  Register and you’ll receive periodic emails with updates related to the program.
